Relay For Life is a community event hosted in partnership with the American Cancer Society that brings residents together to honor cancer survivors, remember loved ones lost, and raise awareness in support of cancer research and patient services. Alameda's 4th of July Parade is the longest in the nation with a route that spans 3.3 miles, attracting more than 150 entries and 2,500 participants. The Parade draws over 60,000 spectators from the region and entries include a full spectrum of Bay Area residents, including equestrians, dance troops, floats, antique cars, community groups, transported and marching bands from both the community and local schools, and more!
